The entry level of karting paddle shifters: simple reliable and fast.

Depending on the model, there are 2 to 18 parameters that can be adjusted via the Bluetooth APP available for Android and iOS on stores. By connecting to the GCU you can then view the parameters entered and vary them at will to change the behavior of your vehicle. The modifiable parameters on the ONE, ONEk, and SPORT kits are the cut-off time and the force needed to insert the neutral. 16 additional variables are added for the other kits.
Born in the karting field we know how a detail can make the difference between winning or losing a race. Just this world teaches us that having the rear of the steering wheel exposed it is possible that external bodies like rubber shavings can slip anywhere and even in the hinge of the paddles blocking their use. The compact closed design with internal magnets allows us to minimize this risk by ensuring system performance. Hinges are made of aluminum and CNC machined for unique precision and feedback.
The rotary actuator is the result of many hours of development and testing on track in the race field. The planetary gearbox is a The Lab Motorsport branded design, made with two stages of oversized and cobblestone gears. In this specific case, the design focused on reliability, a fundamental element to ensure that the races can be concluded without running into problems and failures.
The standard cut-off system allows the driver to increase the gear without remove the foot from the accelerator, optimizing the shift time and leaving the driver the maximum traction during the acceleration phase. The system intervenes by cutting the power supply to the coils or bringing to ground the appropriate cable of the ignition coil (Kill-off cable).
To insert the neutral will be enough to press the left paddle for 1 second and the shifter will give e little bit to get the neutral gear (adjustable via APP).

SPORT paddle shifter

The best compromise between performance and ease of use. SPORT is the paddle shifter that suits your needs.

Depending on the model, there are 2 to 18 parameters that can be adjusted via the Bluetooth APP available for Android and iOS on stores. By connecting to the GCU you can then view the parameters entered and vary them at will to change the behavior of your vehicle. The modifiable parameters on the ONE, ONEk, and SPORT kits are the cut-off time and the force needed to insert the neutral. 16 additional variables are added for the other kits.
The main function of the cut-off is to allow shifting without lifting the foot from the throttle. This version is equipped with the cut-off function with artificial intelligence system. The dynamic algorithm allows you to modulate the cut-off based on the driving phase, increasing the cut- off value during turns for a smoother exit, and decreasing it during straights to optimize performance.

A patent by The Lab Motorsport. The brand new GCU with patented ACS (advance cut-off system) allows us to read and process RPM data and select the individual specific sparks that will be interrupted during the upshift. This allows the driver to obtain very fast changes without suffering from annoying lag that breaks the setup of vehicle during all the driving phases, simulating in the most truthful possible lightening that the driver brings on the throttle pedal during the upshift phase.
The downshift input memorizing (DIM) system intervenes during the downshift phase to assist the driver. During the downshift two mistakes can be made by the driver: One downshift too early, and two or more downshift too close together. In the first case you risk an over-rev potentially harmful to the engine, which is why the GCU will cancel the requested action and will perform it at the best time (when the RPMs will be below a certain defined threshold). In the second case, the second and subsequent downshift may not take place if the driver recalls the downshift without respecting a technical time of disengagement and engagement of the lowest ratio. Also in this case the GCU will cancel the command but will memorize the request returning it at the appropriate time (scheduled in compliance with the minimum time set or with close loop).
The attention of a driver while driving is divided constantly on many aspects, it is not uncommon during downshift to press unintentional the downshift paddle risking sending the engine over revolutions and then to damage it. Thanks to the over-rev protection function, the GCU constantly monitors the engine’s RPM by inhibiting the downshift if the paddle is pressed when the RPMs exceeds a value set by the engine engineers, thus preventing serious damage to the engine.
Any type of user programming software as ours via BT APP still requires the vehicle stationary and close. Nothing can replace a dynamic steering control system that allows the driver to vary the behavior of the shifter and then the vehicle instantly according to their feelings/ needs. The control panel allows the selection of 3 different mappings while driving, the neutral function and the launch control.
The blipper system allows the drivers to downshift smoothly gears without the use of the clutch. During the downshift phase the GCU will give the throttle bit to allow the optimal engagement of the lower ratio. Also, you will get a better exit by the turns due to an engine ready. Our GCUs can handle either a mechanical blipper via electronic or pneumatic actuators, or if required, an electronic blipper that interacts directly with the engine control unit and accelerator position sensor (TPS).
The launch control function can be activated (where required) through the blue button of the pushbuttons. Once in first gear, activating the function and pressing the accelerator thoroughly the engine will keep to a value of RPM set in order to ensure a start at rpm speed that allows maximum traction without sliding. As soon as the driver presses the paddle to pass in second gear the system will deactivated allowing the smooth climb in first gear (will be pressed twice to pass in second).

It offers a smoothly enter in the turns and an engine more ready at the exit of the corners.
The rotary actuator is the best solution for this type of application. The gearbox made entirely of steel allows reliability and performance with a compact design. The kit weight is only 1.5kg.
